Christmas Collection

Community Service Chairman Justin writes:

Another well-organised doorstep Christmas collection meant that LERT were able to give out almost £4,000 to help over the festive season eighty-two needy families & individuals in the Long Eaton area. Additionally, food hampers were given to a lucky twenty-four recipients. Another example of LERT at it’s best supporting the local community.

Hello, I am the musical Director of the above band and also the training band. Both bands regularly perform concerts including charity concerts in and around the borough, providing free tuition, free use of equipment to all members. We rehearse in our own club which is situated on Salisbury Street in Long Eaton.

At the moment the band has enough instruments and music but what we are trying to do is raise some money so we can carry out essential repairs and refurbishment on our premises. We need urgent roof repairs, central heating repairs and new front doors

The club is used by various user groups which include two brass bands, Elder citizens clubs, dance classes, darts, domino and snooker teams. All of these community groups have socially disadvantaged people in them.
We are striving to continue to provide free equipment and facilities in a pleasant, warm safe environment, but to do this we need to raise money.
The bands are all giving various free concerts in the club throughout the year with raffles etc but we require additional funding. We have also raised awareness of the club via our leaflet campaigns which will hopefully attract new members .
Could we please ask for a donation or a raffle prize so we can help secure the heritage and future of the club, the bands and the community
If you require any more information please do not hesitate to contact me

    Many thanks Sharon Stansfield
