Santa’s Sleigh On Its Way!

Posted on

Long Eaton Round Table’s annual Santa Sleigh will be doing the rounds of the local area with Santa  trying to raise money for charity. Each year Santa and his Round Table  helpers can be seen out and about with their collecting tins as they tour the streets of Long Eaton, Sawley and Breaston. On Saturdays, you can spot Santa and his sleigh in the High Street, seeing if all the boys and girls have been good, and double checking he’s got the right gifts in his sack for Christmas Eve.

If you would like to see Santa, his schedule is printed below. Please note that sometimes circumstances dictate slight variations in the route, and occasionally Santa is not able to visit all the streets if he has had one too many mince pies. But children should rest assured that he will visit every house on Christmas Eve as he will have his full set of reindeer pulling the sleigh that night.

A massive bonfire kept the crowd warm, but those feeling a real chill also enjoyed the mulled wine from the refreshment tent. Top quality burgers and hot dogs were expertly cooked by Round Table Area 14 Chairman George Loydall, and served by his team of helpers from Round Table and their wives and friends.

Over £2000 was raised, all of which will go to local charities in the Long Eaton area.

Long Eaton Chairman Mark Elm commented “This was a great night out for all the family – be sure to look out for us again next year.”
