Long Eaton Round Table have recently been able to support a young girl from Sawley ‘Freya Barry’ with £250 towards her Tennis Coaching, she has to wear bilateral hearing aids but this does not hamper her passion for tennis where she can overcome her loss of hearing, she has recently been chosen to represent the county and selected to join the new National Deaf Tennis Squad who compete around the world and have their own Olympics. For this she needs extra specialist coaching both at Nottingham Tennis Centre and in London at some expense to her mother Alison Horton who is a single parent, For Freya to continue developing her skills she is looking for support and sponsorship this will enable her to have private lessons each week. Catherine Fletcher from National Deaf Tennis Squad says ‘We are keen to provide more opportunities for Freya who we feel has promise and extra talent which has been spotted by our coaching team’.
Alan Colley from Long Eaton Round Table says ‘We are delighted to support clubs and individuals such as Freya as we see that support at this point in time will make a real difference to her continued development’
The Long Eaton Round Table next fundraising event is the ‘Long Eaton Summertime Ball’ which is on 18th July and tickets are on sale now at www.longeatonball.org at just £25.
