Alan Colley from Long Eaton Round Table (LERT) pictured, explains ‘’We have been supporting our local homeless trust for the past five years donating food hampers at Christmas and in 2014 working with them to deliver thirty food hampers direct to people the trust recommended who needed a little extra support, This year we wanted to do more and have been able to donate vital funds to the trust. The homeless trust needs funds each year to continue its work in providing essential care for people and families who find themselves homeless.”

Kevin Curtis Project Manager pictured above says “Everyone here at the Trust acknowledges that we are truly only able to provide the support and care that we do through the thoughtful and kind support of organisations such as the Long Eaton Round Table. As a Community based charity the Trust is dependent on charitable donations to enable it to provide for those who, through no fault of their own, find themselves homeless and often isolated. No-one chooses to be homeless – it is not a life-style choice. The donation of £461 provided by the Long Eaton Round Table will not only provide materially for our homeless clients but also gives them an emotional lift recognising that an organisation such as the Round Table cares.”

Alan Colley Ways and means & Press officer from LERT says ‘We are delighted to support clubs and individuals such as Canaan Trust where our donation to local projects can make a real difference to the local community, we also welcome the Long Eaton community to join us in our activities we meet up every two weeks and participate in local activities such as Rugby, Rafting, a different event each time’ To see what the club is doing next please visit www.longeatonroundtable.org.uk or call 077900 23796 your first activity night is free!’ #DOMORE
