About LERT

Long Eaton Round Table is one of the largest Round Table clubs in Great Britain and Ireland, with around forty members.  Known for its charitable activities, Round Table is at its heart just a bunch of guys having a good time. We meet every two weeks, and do all sorts events that all normally ending up in a pub somewhere. Well, there has to be some incentive!

Round Table gives you the opportunity to try new experiences – for example white water rafting, quad biking, go-karting, indoor cricket, clay shooting, and bowling. It’s not all adrenalin-junkie stuff though: more sedate events include formal dinners, pub games, and curry nights. In Long Eaton, our major regular fund raising events each year revolve around a bonfire night and the Christmas float. Both raise several thousand pounds that goes mainly to local charities and causes.

Every couple of years we like to do a big challenge. In 2008, about twenty five intrepid members took part in the 3 Peaks Challenge – hiking up and down Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Mount Snowdon all in 24 hours. A couple of years before that we cycled to Paris.

For more information on the Round Table organisation, see the links on the side panel. To see what other clubs in the East Midlands get up to, click on the Area 14 link.

We are always on the lookout for prospective new members, so if you are a bloke, over 18 but under 45, and live or work in the Long Eaton area then we would love to hear from you. Drop us an email at ‘membership at longeatonroundtable.org.uk’ .

In the meantime, have an explore around this website to get an idea of the kinds of things we do.

    Good morning,

The Castle Donington Rotary Club have now moved back to the Manor Hotel for their weekly meetings (Thursday evening, 19:00 for 19:30). We noticed that your Round Table plaque is still outside the Manor and we wondered if you still met at the Manor.

We are having an open meeting on the 2st October at the Manor and would welcome visitors. Please contact me on 01332 810117 or Chris Elston 01332 811577 if you wish to visit.

We would also welcome any members of the Round Table to our normal meetings. If you wish to attend, please contact Patrick Parkes, secretary on 01332 810775. (£12 for 3 courses + coffee and mints.)

We look forward to a visitor or two (preferably more!)

    Best regards,
Eric Woodward, President Rotary Club of CD.
